Kitson Acornward: Owl Tower Defense Game (Browser, Offline, No Ads)

Most tower defense apps sell you the good towers: gems, premium heroes, energy timers and ads between every wave. Acornward doesn't. Buy it once and it's yours, and nobody gets hurt.

Cheeky raiders, squirrels, raccoons, magpies and a leaf-sneak or two, are coming down the forest path for the owls' winter acorn store. Perch owls along the path and shoo them home: Pell's shoo-puffs, Hoot's big stun cone, Feather-drop's slowing feather piles, Moon-lantern's light for the sneaky ones, Scoop's bouncing chirps, Ember's wing gusts, Gran Tawny's wise aura and Boomer's deep HOO. When a raider loses its nerve it runs home and drops acorns, and acorns buy more owls and upgrades.

Easy enough for little ones, deep enough for grown-ups

• One big START button. Map 1 teaches itself: glowing perches and a ghost finger show where to tap, and the first waves are gentle.
• 24 maps over 4 seasons, from the leaf litter of Amber Autumn to the starlight of Deep Snow, each with its own look, 20 to 40 waves and 1 to 3 stars.
• 8 owls with two upgrade paths each: pick a path and grow it over three steps, or send an owl home for most of its acorns back.
• Three difficulties, four challenge twists (No upgrades, Fog, Swift raiders, Five baskets), the endless Long Night on any map, and a new Daily challenge every day, the same for everyone, offline.
• Every map was won by an automatic player on every difficulty before release.
• Kid-safe: no weapons, no blood, no deaths. The raiders are shooed and run home.
• Nothing to buy inside the game, ever: no gems, no energy, no premium owls, no ads.
• Shape-distinct owls and raiders, optional owl letters for colour-blind players, reduced motion, large text, 1x/2x speed and pause.

• Plays offline in any modern web browser on Windows, Mac, Linux and Chromebook, in portrait on a phone or wide on a desktop. Nothing to install.
• Touch controls are built in, but opening a downloaded file on a phone or tablet varies by device, so a computer is easiest.
• No ads, no accounts, no coins, no tracking. Your progress is saved in your browser, with a save code to move it.
• Original owls, raiders, music and sound by Kitson Workshop; the display font (Lilita One, OFL) and the ground textures (ambientCG, CC0) are free-licence assets, credited in the game's README.
