I have always been fascinated by the Chevron pattern, made eternally famous by the wonderful Missoni brand founded in the early 1950’s.

The peaks and troughs look stunning when worked in multiple, vibrant colours. I wanted to take the basic chevron, play around with it, and see what happens. This pattern is the result.

The ‘peaks’ wander from side to side, and pull the ‘troughs’ with them, adding some fluidity to the normally uniform pattern.

Using a multi-colour yarn with abrupt colour changes also means there is no need to change yarns whilst knitting, the stripes simply knit themselves.

The scarf measures approximately 132cm by 24cm (52in by 9½in). It is designed to use one ball of Sirdar Heart & Sole 4ply yarn (410m 449yd) (any sock/fingering weight yarn can be used), together with a pair of 4mm (US 6) knitting needles
