Flags: Summer of 2015

For bass-baritone and piano, this cycle of four songs (Rainbow, Response, Rebel, Reverence) examines events from the summer of 2015, including the legalization of same-sex marriage, the removal of the Confederate flag from the South Carolina capitol, and the murder of 9 African-Americans at a church in Charelston.
