Loch Mhor Sweater

The Loch Mhor Sweater was conceived after a long evening chatting by the fire in the garden, wondering what the warmest possible garment would be. This lead to a cross between the all over stranded colour work motifs found in Shetland designs, but worked on a super scale in bulky yarn.

It is a jumper I wear surprisingly often - in the mornings before yoga, on walk on a dry crisp winter day, straight after a swim and for all windy walks on a frozen loch.

Finished bust circumference: 106.5 (118.5, 130.5, 142, 154, 166, 178, 189.5) cm /42.75 (47.5, 52.25, 57, 61.75, 66.25, 71, 75.75) in

Shown in Size 5 with 38 cm / 15 in positive ease at bust, and  5 cm / 2 in positive ease at upper arm. 

Needles 
5.0 mm circular needles
6.5 mm circular needles
Use circular needles shorter than the finished bust circumference, as well as DPNs if preferred for working the sleeves. 

Tension 
13.5 sts and 17 rows over 10 cm / 4 in, in stranded colourwork using larger needles, after blocking. 

Yarn
It is recommended that you use a 100% wool, non-superwash lofty bulky yarn in three colours. 
MC - 470 (500, 540, 580, 620, 660, 700, 740) m / 530 (570, 620, 660, 710, 750, 800, 840) yds
CC1 - 290 (320, 340, 370, 390, 420, 440, 470) m / 330 (360, 390, 420, 450, 470, 500, 530) yds
CC2 - 50 (50, 60, 60, 60, 70, 70, 70)  m / 50 (60, 60, 70, 70, 70, 80, 80) yds

Álafoss Lopi, 100% wool, 100 m / 109 yards per 100g skein

MC - Ash Heather (0056) - 5 (5, 6, 6, 7, 7, 7, 8) skeins
CC1 - White (0051) - 3 (4, 4, 4, 4, 5, 5, 5) skeins
CC2 - Burnt Orange (1236) - 1 skein
