How To Better Connect With Your Co-workers

In this lesson, students will share their own experiences when it comes to workplace connections. They will predict some information before watching a Ted video in which a social scientist shares three tips to better connect with co-workers.

Students will develop their listening decoding skills by listening for gist and for detail. They will also do a microlistening activity which will serve as a springboard for a pronunciation activity that focuses on the letter "u" and how it is pronounced in strong and weak forms.

Students will also work on some contextualized lexis from the video that comprises verb + nooun collocations.

By the end of the lesson, students will choose a follow-up task according to their interests and needs.
