Park adventure- high school
How tall is that tree? Use trigonometry to find out, then use a see-saw to learn about variables and their relationship.
This adventure was designed with high school students in mind and it will work in any park with trees and a see-saw.
The adventure sheet has detailed explanations. Some previous knowledge of algebra and trigonometry will be helpful, but not necessary.
As you set off on your adventure, I recommend bringing a clipboard, pen, calculator with scientific function (on your phone) and a measuring tape with you. You will also need to download a free app to complete the trigonometry activity.
Happy learning!
