Gossamer Tee

The Gossamer Tee is a Tunisian crochet top rated advanced beginner, designed to wear through summer. The lace pattern keeps the fabric light and breathable without adding much complexity to the construction, and there are two sleeve options plus adjustable length so you can shape it to fit the way you want. Cotton, linen, and plant-fiber blends all work well here.

This pattern was made in collaboration with LeRoo Cotton, who helped select the yarn and dyed the Mulberry colorway featured in the sample photos.

SIZE INCLUSIVE DETAILS:

• Bottom Up - 15 different lengths are included
• Front Panel vs Back Panel - The Front panel is wider than the
• back panel to reduce extra fabric in the back.
• Two different sleeve lengths included in the pattern. Regardless what sleeve you choose the amount of ease will effect the length of the sleeve.
• Shoulder Shaping - Sizes 13 -1 18include shoulder shaping so that the drop shoulder and the diagonal line do not hit at the elbow.
• Optional Waist Shaping is included with the pattern using a calculator designed specifically for this pattern. You will choose the exact measurements you want and the calculator will give you the exact directions of how to shape!

CONSTRUCTION 

Tee is worked bottom up. Maker has the choice of working flat panels and seaming or using joined rounds (tutorial in pattern).

SIZES: 

Pattern provides instructions for sizes 1 - 18. The tee is designed with 4 - 6 in positive ease. However there is a finished size every 2 inches from 32 - 66 inches so the maker can choose the fit they want. See photos for size chart.

YARN: 

- Light Fingering/Fingering (1) 

I suggest using plant fibers. I used a cotton/linen blend from LeRoo Cotton for the Mulberry sample.

Note: These estimates are the upper end of estimates across the sizes.

HOOK: 

4.5 mm Tunisian hook or size needed to make gauge

Note: This sweater is made with a loose gauge to achieve the drape. It is likely you will need to use a different hook.

TESTING 

This is a #sizeinclusive pattern that was attempted to be tested across all 18 sizes. However, no tester in sizes 17 or 18 completed the test. If you are one of those sizes and interested in testing, please email me for a free copy of the pattern to test.
