Hand Knitting Pattern: Shawl / Wrap

A buttoned capelet shawl with dropped stitch fringe and ladders, worked side to side in rows.

This is a ONE ball shawl! (most all 100g/3.5 oz skeins of fingering/light sport yarn will have enough yardage)

Perfect to wear over a summer dress or T-shirt and jeans.

This is a simple design, but it requires careful attention.


Suggested yarn weight: Fingering (14 wpi) ?

One size: outer edge: 173 cm/ 68", depth at center: 33 cm/ 13"

Skill level: Intermediate


MATERIALS

Yarn

• 1 skein (100 g / 3.5 oz) of fingering/sock or light sport weight yarn.

Approx 330 m / 360 yd required

Needles and notions

•1 pair of needles, size 4 mm / US 6 (or size to obtain gauge)

• 1 crochet hook, size 4 mm / US 6-F (for button loop band)

• 5 locking stitch markers

• 6 small buttons approx 13 mm / 0.5 in OR 9 very small buttons approx 8 mm / 0.3 in

• Optional: 10 sliding stitch markers, and several removable stitch markers/progress keepers

• Tapestry needle


TENSION GAUGE:17 stitches and 36 rows = 10 cm in Garter Stitch, blocked
