Noggin Hill
The 5th and final design of the Noggin Cove Island’s Collection is the hill to climb, Noggin Hill. It’s a big, intricate, and modular combination of lace and Fair Isle.
The pattern comes with 4 detailed diagrams to help with the construction, and the lace portions are both charted and written.
The general outline of steps of Noggin Hill:
(1) The Fair Isle bands of the inner central squares are worked first.
(2) The inner Fair Isle bands are then filled in with the centre Da Flee lace (with light grey; colour G).
(3) The Fair Isle corner bands are worked in the round and steeked to form 4 separate corner pieces.
(4) The Fair Isle corner bands are then filled in (with light grey; colour G).
(5) The edge Fair Isle bands are then worked in the round and steeked to form the 4 edges.
(6) The attached border is worked (with dark grey; colour J).
