I believe that children learn best through interactive learning, playing, and having fun. My children love scavenger hunts so I thought how can we put fun in math? Well, that's when I have put together math and scavenger hunt. These materials are found in my kindergarten classroom and I am sure you have these materials in your home or classroom too.

How to play:

• Flashcards Needed: Simple math problems (addition or subtraction)
• Hide props or objects around the classroom, play area, or put them on a table.
• Give each child or a small group of children a set of flashcards.
• Children will use the flashcards to go on a 'treasure hunt' to solve the math problems and find the materials on the flashcard
• Children can play individually or with a group
• Can be printed single sided or double sided with the answer at the back of each flashcard
• When the hunt is over, review what each child or group found to reinforce the learning
• Give small prizes or stickers for participation and effort
