Fat Boy

Fat Boy is a "percussive solo acoustic funk tune" that illustrates several of the left- and right-hand techniques Preston uses frequently in his playing. It is a multi-voiced, "multi-instrumental" solo guitar tune in that it imitates the sounds and textures of other instruments: There's an ostinato drum and bass rhythm played by the right hand against a syncopated melody played over the top of the neck by the left hand, as well as a full-on "drum solo" in the middle of the tune.

Fat Boy was recorded on Metal (Outer Bridge, OB1002) in 1995.
