Enter the world of Jack and the Beanstalk with a cabled throw on such a grand scale it could be from the giant’s own castle. Designed to keep you cozy in winter, three different traditional cables are used; mirrored rope cables, inverted gull cables and a huge Saxon Braid as the centerpiece.

The original pattern for Beanstalk is fully charted; the first row is worked on the WS and the written instructions place each chart in the correct position. Follow the charts on RS rows from right to left, and on WS rows from left to right.

There is *also* an updated version of the pattern included which contains a full chart as well as full written instructions. The individual cable charts are still given for reference.

This pattern first appeared in the Woodsmoke Cable Collection, published by Knit Picks in 2017.

Yarn: Knit Picks Tuff Puff (100% Wool; 44 yards/100g): Ivy 26847; 29 balls

Needles: US 17 (12mm) 60" circular needles, or size to obtain gauge. Circular needles are required for the width, once past the halfway mark you may find it easier to use two circular needles to take the weight off the needle cable

Notions: Cable Needle, the largest you can find or use a US 17 (12mm) DPN, Large yarn needle

Gauge: 9 sts and 12 rows = 4" over Chart B, lightly steam blocked. If your gauge is looser than stated, you will need considerably more yarn to complete the throw.
