Art & Intel presents "Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow" (with LYRICS) – a new progressive rock album exploring the struggles of modern life for old souls, a forgotten and forbidden love, and the fear of, and urge to flee from conflict and war. The album follows a journey of escape as we sail toward Antarctica, leaving behind the chaotic and overstimulated world. While we move through the songs, we will be taken along several stops of a permanent history, a shifting present, and a frightening future. This album is an immersive experience for the true progressive rock fan!
Here is a short fictional story. Meet Jack ...
Side A
01 South
The Earth is at the brink of war. Although, it seems that way. It is trapped in a recurring cycle of self-destruction, sorrow and pain. Like a sick dog that keeps forgetting not to drink from the polluted water. And nobody feels responsible. No-one seem to care. A selfish world. So, Jack sails south. Away from the hustle and bustle, the chaos and the imbalance.
02 Stormy Day
The pace at which Jack's friends and family were flying through their lives was much quicker than he could bear. Every step was too far. Then he got older and older, and the burden got bigger and heavier. At some point even breathing seemed to be exhausting.
03 Tango of Fools
The only love in Jack's life was his wife Millie. Opposites seem to attract: he was quiet, stable and calm. She was dramatic, antisocial, narcissistic. Their dance of love was an emotional and a fierce one, with many twists and turns. As if consumed by fire, she played a game with him. A different face every day; a tango of love and hate.
04 Late Autumn
The new leaders seem to have their own hidden agenda. Promising freedom, health and wealth, while giving us spying mirrors and baubles to play with. The freedom, health and wealth is only meant for the few. And the many has been blinded by the one-eyed king. The world is in the late autumn of its life, and the winter king already reigns.
05 What I Must Do
_Whatever choice we make, it is not our own. As if an unknown voice in our head tells us that there is more to where this road takes us. "A game well played", we can tell ourselves. As if we already accept our fate._
Side B
06 Then And Now
In a brief moment Jack feels like he just passed an invisible boundary of time and space. The fast and hasty world behind him, the peace and calm world in front of him. The coin of time was spinning with such an awful speed. Old and new, in a restless fight.
07 Under The Pale Blue Sun
In this disturbing dream, Jack feels himself drowning, sinking rapidly in the deep Atlantic Ocean. He looks up. He can dimly see the pale sun, casting a faint blue light on his face through the dark water. When he wakes up, the feeling of drowning remains.
08 Within Reach, Out Of Sight
A sudden desire to go back surges through Jack's veins. But the greater the feeling, the louder a voice tells him to close his eyes, to feel the calm and to let all his doubts subside. The voice is a familiar one; it is the voice of Millie, his long-missed but never-forgotten wife.
09 Be Here
Although Millie left Jack because of her emotionally and unstable nature, her clear and soothing voice now exists consistently in his head. He can feel her inside. And all the things he couldn't tell her before, he can now: "Please don't fade away! Don't fall down!". He misses her. But of course he knows that she's not with him. It is merely an illusion. A shadow.
10 The Destruction of the World
Is it really true? Jack hears on the radio news that the silent, lurking war is now slowly taking shape. If there was any doubt in his veins about returning, it is gone now. He can't believe what he is hearing! They seem to do what they want, and the rest of the people have to play along. Then out of nothing, from the north, a faint flash of light catches the corner of his eye. A few hours later, a dim murmur of an explosion followed. It has been done. It is the end!
11 Clear Coast
Jack has finally reached the most southern point of the world. The pristine white and green Antarctic coast is faintly visible now. Despite the cold wind, he can feel a wave of peace and warmth embodying him. He is finally home.
