Time Block Planner
Two identical week grids — one for the week you intend to have, one for the week you had — and the variance between them.
Set the Monday and name your categories with a target number of hours for each. Fill the planning grid in half-hour blocks from a dropdown of those categories, then fill the log grid as the week happens. Planned against Actual computes hours by category for both, the variance between them, and each category against the target you set.
WHAT'S INSIDE
Start Here — how the file works and which cells are yours
Categories — the week's Monday, your categories, target hours each, and a flag if the targets exceed the week
Week Grid — the week as designed, half-hour blocks, Monday to Sunday
Actual — the same grid, filled in as it happened
Planned vs Actual — target, planned, actual, variance and gap to target per category
Summary — hours accounted for, total drift, the biggest over and under, and how close you came
THE PART NOBODY ELSE BUILDS
A planner tells you what you meant to do. A log tells you what you did. Neither on its own tells you whether your estimates are any good — and that is the number worth having, because a plan built on estimates you have never checked is a wish list with times attached. Two grids, one subtraction, and after three weeks you know which categories you routinely under-budget by half.
