STRONG AT SEA (A Practical Guide to Staying Mentally Strong Through Loneliness, Stress, and Emotional Exhaustion)
WHY I CREATED THIS BOOK
Life at sea offers many opportunities, but it also comes with challenges that people on land may not fully understand.
Long working hours, limited personal time, distance from loved ones, different cultures, and the pressure to perform can affect how we feel and think.
As someone who has spent many years working onboard cruise ships, I understand that seafarers are expected to remain professional, responsible, and ready to serve—even when dealing with personal difficulties.
I have seen how easy it is to focus on work and family responsibilities while forgetting to take care of ourselves.
Many seafarers are good at looking after other people, but sometimes we forget to ask ourselves a simple question:
"Kumusta naman ako?" — How am I really doing?
That question matters.
I created STRONG AT SEA to help fellow seafarers understand their emotions, recognize stress early, and develop simple habits that support their mental and emotional well-being.
This book is not about becoming fearless or avoiding every difficult situation.
It is about learning how to take better care of yourself while continuing to fulfill your responsibilities.
Because your well-being matters, too.
