A gentle 56-day guided workbook to help you find your own tastes, trust and voice again.

Description

What would you like? When did anyone last ask you?

If you have spent years looking after other people, it can be surprisingly hard to say what you like. Coming Back to Yourself is a 56-day printable workbook for women who want to find their own preferences, self-trust and voice again, gently and in their own time.

There is no pressure here, and no one tells you what you should like. You are the only expert on that. In 10 to 15 minutes a day, you will:

  • Meet the woman you were before the roles piled up
  • Taste your way through everyday likes, one tiny experiment at a time
  • Trust yourself again by keeping small promises
  • Say “I’d rather” in places where nothing is at stake

What’s included

  • 56 daily pages with generous writing space on every prompt
  • Four parts: Before I Was Everyone’s, The Tasting Menu, Self-Trust and My Own Voice
  • A Likes List, a Self-Trust Ledger and a Preferences Portrait to keep
  • A Week in Brief check-in and rest day every seventh day
  • Five Permission Slips, plus a bonus pack of slips to cut out and keep
  • A Day 56 Letter to yourself and a Keepsake Page
  • A guide to what to read next in the On Your Own Terms series
  • A full-colour cover
  • Both US Letter and A4 files, so you can print on the paper you have

How it works

Print at 100% (Actual Size), then punch the pages into a binder or take the file to a print shop for spiral binding. Do one page a day. If you miss a day, carry on from where you are. Every prompt is optional, so skip anything that does not fit, or write “not today.” That is a perfectly good answer.

Who it’s for

Women who have spent decades caring for family, working or keeping everything running, and who would like to reconnect with what they enjoy and what they think. It is also a kind gift for a mother, sister or friend who always puts herself last.

A note on tone

This book looks at what it can cost to put others first, which can bring up sadness, relief or even guilt. It includes gentle “When This Gets Heavy” notes and lets you skip anything that is too much.
