Trapdoor spiders are highly skilled at deception and camouflage the entrances to their burrows in order to catch unsuspecting prey. Based on a transcription from a Cantuaria trapdoor spider, 'in the shadows' (2020) recreates the tense wait for the spider's prey before the spider leaps into action to catch its prey.
