Change Log

1.1 — August 2026

New:

Crop tool - Drag to choose the region you want to keep, then commit it from a bar that stays readable however far you're zoomed in. The screenshot, your pen strokes and every annotation all move together, so nothing drifts out of place. The whole crop is a single undo step.

Zoom - A zoom control at the bottom-left of the canvas — minus and plus buttons, a slider, a live percentage, and a one-click return to fit-to-window. Anywhere from 12.5% to 800%, so you can inspect fine detail well past native size or pull right back on a tall page. Zoomed-in pages can be panned, each page remembers its own zoom level as you move between pages, and fit-to-window remains the default.

Clear Markup - Strip every stroke and annotation from a page while keeping the screenshot itself — from the Edit menu, the page's right-click menu, or a Clear button that appears on the canvas whenever a page has markup on it. One undo step. (It doesn't undo a crop.)

Clear All - A button at the bottom of the sidebar empties the whole document in one go, after a confirmation. Also a single undo step.

Improved:

Markup tools moved onto the canvas. The ten markup tools now live in a vertical strip along the edge of the canvas instead of crowding the window toolbar, and colour and width appear in a bar above the canvas only for the tools that actually use them. The window toolbar is now just document actions, so it's far easier to scan.

Edit shapes after you've drawn them. Click any shape to change its colour or width — undoable, and the next shape you draw inherits the change. Shapes and step markers are now selected the moment you draw them, so you can adjust them straight away without hunting for them again.

Typing in light colours is legible. The text editing box now contrasts with the colour you're typing in, instead of white-on-white.

Version 1.0.1 — July 2026

Fixed:

Drag-area screenshot reliability — fixed the capture hotkey and menu-bar "New Screenshot" silently stopping working after the app had been running a while, until you quit and reopened it. Captures now work reliably whether or not a window is open.

⚠️ Screenshots after sleep/wake — fixed screenshots hanging with no error right after the Mac wakes from sleep.

New:

⚠️ HD copy mode — a Full / HD selector in the toolbar. HD copies at 1× (longest side capped at 2000 px) for smaller, chat-friendly images; Full copies at native Retina resolution.

⚠️ Press Escape to cancel an area selection.

Improved:

⚠️ Never lose an in-progress session — unsaved work is auto-kept and restored next launch.

⚠️ Menu-bar icon: left-click opens the menu, right-click brings the window forward.

Version 1.0 — Initial release (June 2026)

Capture, mark up, and stitch screenshots into multi-page documents you can export as PDF.

Capture — drag-area, full-screen, and active-window modes, each on a global hotkey; also from the menu bar. Every shot is auto-copied to the clipboard.

Markup — Pen, Arrow, Line, Rectangle, Highlight, Text, auto-numbered Step markers, Blur (for sensitive data), and Eraser; adjustable width, color, and text size.

Pages & documents — multi-page .stepsnip files, sidebar with live thumbnails, drag-to-reorder.

Export — save pages as PNG/JPG, copy to clipboard, or export the whole document as a PDF.

System — lives in the menu bar, optional hidden Dock icon, launch-at-login, pin-window. Requires macOS 14 or later.
