The performance and achievements we see in sports today result from progression in many variables and one of these variables is the development of strength and power. The idea that athletes must be stronger, faster and more powerful than opponents have been widely accepted and embraced by coaches and competitors and can now be seen worldwide. Strength can improve the physical prowess of an athlete and have an injury prevention role provided technique is not compromised. Advanced power movements can be rather complicated. Successful lift execution requires a thorough understanding of technical points to safely and effectively integrate them into a training program.
