L'Anse aux Meadows

About this Design: Walking out the boardwalk at L’Anse aux Meadows National Historic Site is almost like walking through treetops. The trees are so short that all you are surrounded by is branches. The stitch pattern in the main body of this design features traveling cable arms – resembling roots or branches. The border pattern reminds me of the seed pods found on the tall grasses there, blowing in the strong winds. The “yarn” used for the baby blanket sample is made of several strands of heavy laceweight yarn and cobweb yarn held together, creating a yarn that falls between worsted and aran weight yarn. The blanket can be knit in a single yarn or hold several yarns together to create your own yarn.
