Squishy is a cowl designed for speedy knitting.
Worked in just one skein of bulky yarn, this cowl will fly off your needles.
It’s ideal for gifting, and just perfect for those panicky moments when you remember that you forgot to make someone something! It also has a companion hat
available here. The deceptively simple stitch pattern makes it suitable for advanced beginners as well as experienced knitters. (The pattern pdf contains links to online tutorials for techniques used.)
Texture and squish are gratifyingly high in this project and the wrong side of the cowl is attractive too, so it’s reversible.
You can see the textured fabric better in
this video. Blocking is optional. You may choose to block to open up the eyelets a bit, or simply skip it for a more textured look (see project photos).
Designing this cowl proved to be an unexpectedly fun challenge for me: it had to be a quick knit, seamless, and use basic techniques, while still providing visual and textural interest with good stitch definition.
