The Holler - A Play in One Act

A one-act, devilishly dark comedy about the sadder days in the holler. Though mutant hillbillies don't run amok, many of the people living here are almost strange enough to deserve the name. The beaten-down, dejected-yet-foolhardy residents may have issues with knots, transportation, and strange taste in architecture, but still strive to keep on keeping on.

Or, if you like it short and sweet - semi-suicidal hillbillies.

Featuring puns hinging on a house of doors, such as: 

• Well, I’d say m’door’s always open, but . .
  . (He gestures with his free hand, signaling the
  wall of doors around him.) T’ain’t too good fer
  insul-in-atin’, right?
• See, good doors ain’t make good neighbors.
  Think I should build a house outta fences?
• Well, nothin’ hinging on it today. . .
