Hosanna to the Son of David for Trumpet Octet

Hosanna to the Son of David is a difficult trumpet octet (eight trumpets) that Eddie Lewis composed on Palm Sunday one year. It was a year that his church was doing "praise and worship" music for Palm Sunday and he was silently complaining about it not sounding like Palm Sunday. Then the Holy Spirit asked him, "What does Palm Sunday sound like to you?" That's when the melody and ideas flooded his mind and he immediately grabbed a pencil and paper to write them down. He finished the piece later that week.
