It looks like hand embroidery, but this stitching is actually free motion quilting, done with heavy (12) weight thread. Quilt and stitch the design in one step! Full sized pattern included.

Full sized templates are included.  PLEASE PRINT AT 100%, ACTUAL SIZE to ensure your templates print correctly.  Be sure to check the 1" square block provided.

Materials Required:
1.25m (1-1/4 yds) white cotton .25m (1/8 yd.) red cotton
90 cm (36") square batting
90cm (36") square backing
3 purchased red ribbon roses (optional)
1 spool 12 weight red thread for embroidery
white thread for quilting and piecing
Size 100/16 Topstitch needle
Washable marker for transferring the design

* Aurifil 12 weight thread, colour 2265 red, used for Red Work quilting. Aurifil 50 weight thread, colour 2024 used for piecing and quilting.
