Scientific Notation Scavenger Hunt | Adding and Subtracting Practice
Get students moving while they practice adding and subtracting scientific notation. This scavenger hunt gives students a way to solve problems, find matching answers, and move around the room as they work.
This activity includes 14 adding and subtracting scientific notation problems. Students practice working with numbers in scientific notation, adjusting powers of 10 when needed, and writing answers in proper scientific notation.
Students solve a problem, find the answer on another card, and continue until they have completed the scavenger hunt. The activity works well for partner practice, small groups, math centers, review, or a movement-based lesson. The theme also gives you a fun way to add discussion about NFL teams while students work.
