How Do My Lungs Help Me Move?
How Do My Lungs Help Me Move?
A Little Roots Learning × Family First Fitness Mini-Study
What happens inside your body when you run, jump, march, climb, or play?
This 6-page mini-study introduces children to the connection between breathing, oxygen, the lungs, blood, the heart, muscles, and movement in a simple, hands-on way. Children will learn what happens when they breathe, discover how different parts of the body work together, and then put that learning into action through guided movement and observation.
Inside you'll find:
🌿 A kid-friendly look at what happens when we breathe
🫁 How the lungs bring oxygen into the body
❤️ How the heart, blood, lungs, and muscles work together
🏃 A rest → move → recover observation activity
🌱 A Movement Lab for finding a comfortable pace
💬 The simple “Talk Test” for noticing effort
✏️ A review and reflection page
🥾 A family walking challenge
The movement activities include seated and supported options, with an emphasis on comfortable movement, observation, and no racing or comparison.
