Silverfall Shawl is an asymmetrical shawl worked sideways from tip to its widest point featuring a simple body with contrast colour purl rows and a densely textured raindrop-like panel. Shawl is bound off using a knitted-on edge with tiny suspended bobbles.

Silverfall Shawl has been inspired by the rich Latvian folklore, the songs and folk poems where rain is often referred as the falling silver from the sky or silver rain, especially spring and summer time rain - shimmering in a sunlight, covering meadows in a gentle glow and branches of birch trees in flickering sparks of sun rays caught reflecting off the rain soaked leaves. When it comes to nature, I draw a lot of inspiration from my birth country Latvia. Maybe because I feel so deeply connected with the ways nature shows its course there. I find more and more amazing natural wonders of this tiny country which, despite globalization, still honours and draws from nature in so many aspects of life.

The pattern includes written instructions as well as charts.
