Behind My Back - a knitting pattern

Secrets are not always a bad thing. The wise woman discreetly guards her heart, carefully discerning when it’s safe to let someone in. Thus a sense of mystery surrounds her. One who appears plain and simple may be hiding a depth of beauty and substance which is revealed only to those worthy of her trust. Such is the case with this pullover. From the front it appears deceptively understated, but its true identity is hidden around back. Plain stockinette contrasts with leafy lace, yielding a garment that’s casual and sexy all at the same time.

Sizes
XS (S, M)L, XL, XXL.
Finished measurements at bust: 84 (92, 100)110, 120, 128 cm / 33.5 (36.75, 40)44, 48, 51.25 inches.
The pullover is intended to be worn with 5-7.5 cm / 2-3” of positive ease at bust.
Shown in Size M on 93 cm / 37” bust. 

Yarn
6 (6, 7)8, 9, 10 skeins of Malabrigo Silky Merino (50% merino, 50% silk; 150y / 50g). Sample was made in colorway 76 Manzanilla Olive.

Needles
4.0 mm / US #6 or size needed for gauge - circular needle (80 cm / 32” long) and dpns.
3.75 mm / US #5 or one size smaller than gauge needles - circular needle (60 cm / 24” long) and dpns.

Other
5 stitch markers, tapestry needle for weaving, stitch holders / scrap yarn.

Gauge
20 sts and 28 rows in 10 cm / 4” in St st worked in the round with larger needles.
Take time to save time - check your gauge. If necessary, adjust needle size to obtain the correct gauge.
