„Pescador” and “Décima” may be presented as a cycle or performed independently.

 “Pescador” is a delicate habanera that expresses the fisherman’s intimate declaration of love to the sea. Its undulating melody evokes the motion of the waves and the nostalgia characteristic of the genre, highlighting the strong Hispanic influence on Cuban music. The piece creates a contemplative atmosphere in which the poetic voice speaks to the sea as if it were a beloved being.

“Décima” is a musical tribute to the symbols that embody Cuban identity. The work unfolds in two contrasting sections:

• Rural zapateo: a first part that evokes the strength, agility, and spirit of the Cuban countryside.
• Son montuno of the city: a second section that transports the listener to the vibrant energy of urban life.

Together, these elements trace a sonic journey through the cultural essence of Cuba, intertwining rural tradition with the dynamism of the city.
