Breaking glass

By Deborah Claire Pascoe
The trauma experienced by me as a child and into my twenties when our family experienced death in our family was very hard for me to cope with. I have always found it difficult to express my feelings which made the whole experience that much harder for me to deal with. I was also gang raped at the age of 17 and because of the behaviour and rejection I experienced by the medical and non medical fraternity, I never revealed this fact to anyone, not even my closest family for 30 years. It was these feelings that prompted me to write this book. It is my personal journey. I felt that the pathway to my acceptance of these traumatic events will hopefully help others on their journey to healing after trauma.

My aim is to reach as many people as possible so that healing can take place in their lives and in the lives of the people around them. In a society based on fear and anger I know that my words will help people to understand the power that we all hold within ourselves: The power to self-heal through acceptance and forgiveness.

I have purposely made it a short and easy to read book. I feel that this will encourage people to take the time to read and absorb what I have written. It is also a caring gift to give to someone who has experienced the death of a beloved, or someone who has been raped. I know that the healing of our fears that will ultimately lead to the healing of our planet, must take place one person at a time.
