Writing Class Syllabus-COPFM
Write & Publish Your 1st Book is a step-by-step, beginner-friendly writing and publishing class designed for aspiring authors who know they have a book inside them—but don’t know where to start or how to finish. Led by Malika Staar, this class removes the confusion, fear, and overwhelm surrounding the book-writing process and replaces it with clarity, confidence, and a clear plan of action.
This course walks students through every phase of creating their first book—from idea to manuscript to publication. Participants will learn how to identify their book’s purpose, organize their thoughts into a strong outline, write with consistency, and prepare a manuscript for self-publishing. The class also introduces the fundamentals of publishing, including formatting, copyrights, ISBNs, and choosing the right distribution platforms.
Beyond writing and publishing, this course emphasizes authorship as a tool for credibility and opportunity. Students will discover how becoming a published author can open doors to speaking engagements, media platforms, workshops, and income-generating opportunities—without requiring perfection or prior experience.
Rooted in practical instruction and encouragement, Write & Publish Your 1st Book is ideal for first-time authors, entrepreneurs, ministry leaders, educators, and anyone ready to stop sitting on their story and start sharing it with the world.
By the end of the class, students will not only understand how to write and publish their first book—they’ll believe they can.

✔ Clear book concept and outline
