Act For Kids with OT_Intuition
Help Your Child Thrive — Even With Big Emotions Like Fear, Anxiety, or Overwhelm
As a parent/ Carer, watching your child struggle with anxiety, self-doubt, emotional regulation, or simply feeling like they’re not coping can be heart-breaking. You want to help, but sometimes it’s hard to know how.
That’s where I come in.
I’m an Occupational Therapist and coach with a deep understanding of child development and mental health. I consider the full picture: your child’s nervous system, emotional and sensory needs, trauma history, neurodivergence, identity, and other lived experiences — including LGBTQIA+ and cultural factors.
I offer 1:1 coaching sessions that gently support children and teens to:
- Build their own unique toolkit with tried and tested coping strategies and an action plan to continue beyond therapy sessions.
- Learn practical, evidence-based coping strategies
- Reconnect with the things that bring them joy
- Develop a healthier, more compassionate relationship with their emotional and sensory experiences within
My Approach: Empowering, Trauma-Informed & Inclusive
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) — a kind, evidence-based approach that supports young people to:
- Understand their emotions without being overwhelmed by them
- “Walk with fear” instead of avoiding the things they love or even shutting down from the world they once loved
- Strengthen self-awareness and values-based motivation
- Take small, meaningful steps toward what matters to them
- Build skills in areas such as emotional regulation, mindfulness, and self-compassion
This isn’t therapy in the traditional sense. It’s practical, empowering, and forward-focused support — grounded in empathy, science, and strategies that truly work.
Why Parents/Carers Work With Me
You want the best for your child, but you may feel unsure how to guide them through this. I understand that deeply, and I’m here to help.
As an OT, I bring clinical knowledge and years of experience in child development and emotional wellbeing. As a coach, I bring compassion, inclusivity, and a strengths-based lens that honours your child’s unique identity and needs.
I work in partnership with both child and parent, offering:
- A warm, non-judgmental space
- Check-ins and collaboration with you
- Tools your child can use in everyday life — at home, school, and in their community
Together, we’ll support your child in building confidence, emotional safety, and the ability to show up for life.... even when fear is present.
