Bay of Fires Scarf
This Scarf is part of the Tasmania Collection. It is inspired by the colours, textures and shapes of the coastal landscapes of the Tasmanian east coast.
The scarf features an all over stripe pattern, a shallow triangle shape and a scalloped bottom edge.
It is worked primarily in garter stitch with subtle stockinette stitch details.
Design notes
This Scarf is worked from end to end in 21 sections called 'Scallops'.
When working Scallops 1–10, the scarf grows in width evenly, the 11th and Centre Scallop forms the widest part of the scarf and when working Scallops 12-21, the scarf gets narrower again.
As a final step a garter stitch edging is worked along the scalloped edge.
2 versions:
Version 1: 3-colour version where both Yarn A and B colours remain the same throughout the scarf and edging is worked with a 3rd colour, Yarn C.
Version 2: 4-colour version where Yarn B remains same throughout and Yarn A colour changes after each Scallop section, alternating between 3 colours.
