My Slave Sister Myself is a gripping, documentary film about the Transatlantic Slave Trade and the effects it had on millions of enslaved Africans. It depicts the experiences of the enslaved African woman who survived the "Middle Passage" and compares it to the strength of today's Black woman. It also describes how "Black Manhood" was compromised even before leaving the shores of Africa. First person narratives describe the traumatic experiences of captive Africans and draws a direct parallel between feelings deeply embedded in the souls of African Americans today.

While slavery is a dark and tragic period of American history (Not Black History) it is critically important to "Remember the Legacy of Slavery, Lest We Forget". The film includes a separate (10) minute Hip-Hop Music Video at the end that corrobarates the documentary which young people really find of interest.
