Sarah the Sloth Checks It Twice

Nobody moves it alone.

Everybody in this building is running. Sarah is not. She is the slowest one here on purpose, and she is the reason the truck leaves on time. Behind her is a shelf holding every paper anybody has ever sent, in a box, with a date on it — five years of them — so that if anyone ever asks why did you say that, she can walk over and read them the answer. A warm, unhurried read-aloud about checking twice, and about being the person nothing ever comes back to.

Ages 5–9 · A World Movers story about the slowest one in the building.
