When Grief Feels Invisible
When Grief Feels Invisible is a reflective companion for adults after pregnancy and baby loss, including miscarriage, stillbirth, TFMR and fertility loss.
It sits alongside the article Pregnancy and Baby Loss: Why Grief Can Feel So Invisible, written for Baby Loss Awareness Week. The article helps you recognise this grief. These pages offer a gentle place to reflect on what you are carrying within it.
You might find this helpful if…
· your loss happened recently, or many years ago
· you carried the pregnancy, or loved someone who did
· you are grieving as a partner, a grandparent, another family member, or on your own
· few people around you know, or the loss has stopped being mentioned
· certain dates arrive heavier than others
This resource won't tell you what to do
There are no right answers here and no pace to keep up with. The pages can be used in any order, skipped, returned to or left unfinished. Nothing asks you to name your baby, to think of yourself as a parent, or to share what you write.
What's included
· A 12-page A4 PDF in two versions: Print, with ruled lines for handwriting, and Fillable, for typing directly into the pages on a computer or tablet
· Ten reflective pages: Before you begin; What else has been lost; The dates that carry meaning, with a calendar page to fill in; What people said; Grieving alongside others, or alone; Ways of remembering; A space to hold onto, an optional name page; The blame you carry; What I wish people understood; What support might feel helpful now
· A support page with contact details for Sands, Miscarriage UK, ARC (Antenatal Results and Choices) and the Ectopic Pregnancy Trust
