The Threads of Grief™

A gentle therapeutic worksheet designed to support reflection, bereavement work, and the complex, non-linear experience of grief.

Grief does not move in a straight line. It can weave through memory, identity, love, pain, silence, meaning, routine, rest, gratitude, and the continuing connection we may still carry with the person who has died.

Threads of Grief offers a compassionate framework for naming and honouring different parts of the grieving experience, without pressure to move on, make sense of everything too quickly, or grieve in a particular way.

This reflective worksheet invites exploration through eight therapeutic threads. Each thread includes gentle prompts to help notice what has been lost, what still matters, what remains unspoken, and how grief may continue to live alongside everyday life. This is not a worksheet about fixing grief. It is an invitation to meet grief with honesty, tenderness, and self-honour.

The eight threads:

Connection — what mattered

Impact — what was altered

Silence — what went unspoken

Self-Honour — who I am within this loss

Meaning — what I carry forward Continuation — the return to life

Relationship Beyond Death — the bond that remains

Gratitude — what this connection gave
