I started designing this back in December 2023. One of my classes decided they would like to learn a new technique in 2024. They chose Tunisian Crochet. After some discussion, this evolved into me creating this CAL. I frequently wonder what I have got myself into!
This CAL uses 31 different Tunisian blocks (some of which are made twice for the double size) to create a unique patchwork blanket. The thickness of Tunisian crochet is combined with the warmth of James C. Brett Croftland aran (containing 20% wool) to create a soft and squishy blanket guaranteed to keep you cosy. It uses 5 different colours with a total of 7 balls for the single and 12 balls for the double.
Instead of yarn packs, you can choose your own colours.
Colour 1 is the main colour. You will need 2 for the single and 3 for the double.
Colour 5 is the joining and border colour. You will need 2 for the single and 3 for the double.
Colours 2, 3 & 4 are the complementing colours. You will need 1 of each for the single and 2 of each for the double.
The blocks, along with the joining and border are made over 20 weeks. There are plenty of photos to help you along and, for those who have not tried Tunisian crochet yet, a step-by-step photo tutorial is available. I am hoping to get videos for the main stitches but, being totally useless at that side of things, I am making no promises.
