This is a fun pre-recorded session to help children explore their big feelings - whether that’s anger, worry, or feeling overwhelmed - and learn simple, practical strategies to work through them. Parents are encouraged to join in too!

You’ll need some colouring pencils for the activities, and there’s a short PDF you can download to use alongside the session. Towards the end, I’ll also show you how to make your own “bottle of superpowers”, a calming glitter jar.

Throughout the session you’ll be prompted to pause, take your time, and chat together. The more you join in as a parent, (working through your own set of activity sheets, sharing where you feel your feelings, and practising the tools) the more powerful this will be for you and your child.

How to make your Glitter Jar:

Materials

  • Glass jar or bottle with a tight-fitting lid
  • Warm water
  • Glitter glue
  • Optional: Extra fine glitter
  • Optional: Food colouring

Strong adhesive (super glue / clear glue)

Instructions

  1. Fill your jar about two-thirds to three-quarters full with warm water.
  2. Squeeze in some glitter glue (the more you add, the slower the glitter will fall).
  3. Stir well to dissolve the glue.
  4. Add extra glitter or a drop of food colouring if you’d like.
  5. Top up with warm water, leaving a small gap at the top.
  6. Seal the lid tightly with strong glue.
  7. Shake to mix and then hold still, watch your calming “glitter storm” settle.
