Norwegian Wood

Created by John Robert Beck in 2014, "Norwegian Wood" is a layered and expressive portrait of Lisa, a Norwegian Forest Cat who has served as a model for the artist. Drawing inspiration from the classic Beatles song and its literary connection, the artwork merges natural wood textures with soft, painterly elements to create a unique visual experience. Lisa’s calm gaze and gentle presence emerge through the composition, giving the piece both warmth and depth. The interplay of texture and color evokes a sense of nostalgia and quiet reflection, making this artwork not just a portrait, but a tribute to both music and companionship.
