HOW TO USE

At 100% each pattern fills most of the A4 page, about 18 to 26 cm tall: a good size for applique on cushions, stockings and tote bags. For tree ornaments of about 8 to 12 cm, set the scale to around 45% (40–50%); print the small snowflakes page at 100% and the mittens at about 55%. On US Letter paper, choose "fit to page". Cut out the outer shape on its line. Where shapes sit inside or overlap one another, trace each one onto fresh paper and cut it out as its own layer. Pin the paper pieces to felt, or draw round them with a fabric pen or chalk, and cut with sharp scissors. Stitch the small pieces on top with a running or blanket stitch, then stitch front to back, adding a little stuffing and a hanging loop before you close it. Faces, fur and leaf veins are there as stitch or embroidery lines rather than pieces to cut.
