About The Golden Hall Shawl:
15% of all sales (after fees) between September 10th and September 17th will go to NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness)!

The Golden Hall is a large triangular shawl constructed from the top down. Increases are made on both ends as well as in the middle. You’ll find no endless sea of stockinette here as three cables sit proudly in between 4 growing sections of seed stitch. The border cable is an edging added on as you bind the shawl off, making this an interesting knit all the way through.

The finished dimensions of The Golden Hall Shawl are 81 in (202.5 cm) x 31 in (77.5 cm). General advice on how to modify the size of your shawl is included in the pattern.

The original sample (pictured here) was knit in KnitPicks Wool of the Andes Worsted in the colorway Brass. I also started a sample in Green Mountain Spinnery's Weekend Wool and can highly recommend it as well!

I designed this shawl while re-listening to the audiobook of J.R.R. Tolkien's Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers. I hope this pattern lends you the same strength and comfort that the book gave to me, whether you're a fan of Tolkien or not. When designing this shawl, I envisioned the finished product to be proud, generous, and bold - something that Tolkien fans and non-fans alike can love.
