Crown of the Valley is knit from the bottom up in a slipped stitch and cabled pattern. It spirals up to the decreases at the top, and would work well with solid, tonal, speckled, or lightly variegated yarn. It reminds me of a hat that one might wear in the valley at harvest time, working the fields and furrows. It encompasses all things fall for me.
