First Moon

AS I sit here in a dreamy state during my Moon, I found the printed program from the First Moon Ceremony we had for my daughter Safiyyah. My mind drifts back to that event and all the preparations and fun. I am also thinking of my youngest daughter Kayti who will soon be coming into her First Moon and how she will also be having a First moon Ceremony.

I then start to think of the impact the ceremony had on not only my daughter but my mother who did not attend but when I explained it to her said “WOW! That is wonderful! I wish I had something like that growing up!”

I thought of all the sisters who have asked about this ceremony over the years. I also thought of my granddaughters and other young girls I know and how they need to have this Ceremony in their lives!

That is when I decided to do something I never thought I would do… Write a book!
