Pack less and move in with a plan. This 17-page dorm workbook helps students check the actual room, make packing decisions, coordinate shared purchases, plan a budget, measure before buying, and organize move-in and move-out. The download includes four PDFs: color + fillable and low-ink + print editions in US Letter and A4.

Moving into a dorm is easier when the plan starts with the actual room, not a generic 200-item shopping list.

The Dorm, Sorted. Complete Move-In Workbook v1.1 is a practical 17-page planning system for students and families. It helps you record what housing provides, decide what to pack or postpone, split purchases with a roommate, track costs, and avoid restricted or unnecessary items.

What is included

1. Start Here: room facts, official policy link, and planning map

2. Packing Plan: sleep, bath, health, and clothes

3. Packing Plan: study, laundry, cleaning, and room-specific items

4. First-Night Bag and First 24 Hours

5. Roommate Split Sheet

6. Roommate Agreement: Daily Life

7. Roommate Agreement: Responsibilities and Resolution

8. What-Not-to-Bring Audit

9. Measure Before Buying

10. Room Layout and Zones Planner

11. Budget Tracker: Category Plan

12. Budget Tracker: Payments and Reimbursements

13. Shopping Shortlist

14. Returns, Receipts, and Move-Out

15. First 90 Minutes

16. Building-Specific Custom Checklist

17. Optional Emergency Information with a visible privacy reminder

The roommate agreement pages are an informal planning worksheet, not a legal contract. Campus and building policies vary; the workbook prompts you to check your own official housing source.

Four PDF editions

- Color + fillable, US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches)

- Color + fillable, A4 (210 × 297 mm)

- Low-ink + print-focused, US Letter (8.5 × 11 inches)

- Low-ink + print-focused, A4 (210 × 297 mm)

All four editions contain the same 17-page planning workflow. The color files include real text fields and interactive checkboxes and can also be printed. The low-ink files use grayscale-safe lines and writing space with no form dependency. Text remains selectable and searchable.

The budget fields recalculate in the tested Adobe Acrobat desktop and Microsoft Edge viewers. Google Chrome accepted typed entries in testing, but its keyboard order and automatic calculations were not consistent. Printed prompts and editable totals provide a manual fallback, so a calculation is never required to use the workbook.
