Alle Jahre wieder - for flexible Concert Band (easy-intermediate)
Instrumentation: Flexible Concert Band
Duration: ~ 2'
Difficulty level: easy - intermediate
This is a flexible, easy to easy-medium arrangement of a traditional German Christmas song, perfect for holiday concerts and street performances with limited instrumentations. While the recommended minimum instrumentation is listed below under "Main wind parts", the arrangement still functions at a bare minimum instrumentation of Flute 1, Clarinet 1, Alto Saxophone 1 or 2, Trumpet 1, and Trombone or Horn. However, the arrangement will of course sound its best with all main parts covered. Additional extra parts will further fill out the piece.
"Alle Jahre wieder" also has lyrics, which can be found on the second page. Although this arrangement was originally written as an instrumental, it may optionally be accompanied by a choir or participating audience singing the lyrics. In this version, verse 1 begins at measure 3, and each subsequent verse has 2 measures of instrumental interlude before the next verse begins. The original song only has 3 verses; therefore in the last section of this arrangement, the lyrics of the first verse should be repeated.
The English translation is provided for context only and does not match the melody exactly. The original German text should be used for performance.
