It is 1883, an ageing seanchaí (storyteller) traveling the byways of Ireland rests and regales some locals with the tale of a forgotten Iron age hero. The mighty Celtic warrior, Taran, charged with the protection of Queen Una of Inis. Taran receives a new commission, a desperate plea by Una to protect her child at all costs when she learns that her husband, King Eogan, has instructed his troops to take the child, afflicted from birth with a spine deformity, into the lair of wolves and leave him for dead. Taran takes the child into the wilds of Iron age Ireland, avoiding pursuers, battling wolves, negotiating druids and teaching his ward how to protect and sustain himself in this unforgiving landscape. The Legend of Taran is an adventure tale to match tales of old Ireland and will leave you cheering the tenacity of a man and boy who will not give in to adversity.
