Vests are versatile layering pieces that provide both comfort and flexibility. I love how they keep the core warm while allowing for unrestricted arm movement. Mika Vest is slightly cropped and features a V-neck with an all-over textured design, making it a stylish yet practical addition to any wardrobe.

PATTERN FEATURES

♡ Mika Vest is a worsted weight, textured, V -neck vest worked from the top-down. (See CONSTRUCTION below)

♡ This vest is designed to be worn with approximately 1-3” (0-8 cm) of positive ease at the chest. Sample shown in size 2, being worn on a 36” chest.

♡ The double fabric at the bottom hem, armhole trim, and button band gives the vest a well-defined structure and refined finish. The bottom hem is worked using the folded hem technique, while the armhole trim and button band are double-knit.

♡ Both written and video instructions are provided in the pattern to work the double-knit armhole trim and button

band.

CONSTRUCTION

This vest is worked flat from the top-down. The construction begins at the back, shaping shoulders and then the armhole. Then stitches are picked up and knit at the sides for the front left and right shoulders which are worked separately and then joined to form the front. The front is worked flat and the neckline and armhole are shaped simultaneously.

The front and back are joined at the underarm. The rest of the body is continued to be worked flat, in one piece. The bottom hem is finished with folded-hem bind-off. Finally, stitches are picked up and knit to create a double-knit edge for the armholes and button band.
