A CLOSED FIBER SLC AFTER SURGERY

This young man has almost completed his inpatient stay in an Austrian hospital.

We meet him after his split plaster SLC has been changed to a closed fiberglass SLC and he is waiting for his follow-up x-ray. He sits in a wheelchair and we sit next to him. This way we can observe his cast and his movements nicely.

His toes are colored by the disinfectant and rest on a "half" toe plate.

While he waits, he briefly disappears on crutches to smoke a cigarette. Once back in the waiting room, he is soon called in for an X-ray.

He then sits in his wheelchair for a while in another waiting area, but, tormented by boredom, he goes to the cafe on crutches, withdraws cash from the ATM, goes to the toilet and outside. He is still visibly unsteady on his crutches, but masters the challenge excellently - albeit slowly.
