Pentecost Made Simple

On the day of Pentecost, the promise of the Father was poured out: a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, cloven tongues like as of fire, and one hundred and twenty believers all filled with the Holy Ghost. Peter stood and preached, three thousand souls were added, and the Church of Jesus Christ was born (Acts 2:1-41).

Pentecost Made Simple is a Bible-first walk through that day, verse by verse. Ten chapters trace the whole story: the promise of the Father, the waiting in Jerusalem, the rushing wind, the tongues of fire, the filling, the other tongues, the confounded crowd, Peter's sermon, the three thousand souls, and the birth of the Church -- then your own Pentecost, with the simple path to being filled with the Spirit today.

Explicitly Trinitarian: the Father who made the promise, Jesus Christ -- Son of God and Son of Man, Lord and Savior -- who purchased the gift and pours it out from the Father's right hand, and the Holy Spirit, the third Person of the Trinity, who is Himself the gift. Every prayer is to the Father, through Jesus Christ, by the Holy Spirit. Freedom and power come by the Spirit alone, never by man's willpower.

Read one chapter a day. Come hungry. Pray expectantly. Be filled.
